iSchool Logo            Some Sample iSchool Lessons

iSchool provides a 'Total Learning Environment (TLE)' which includes lesson plans for every lesson from the start of Grade 1 to the end of Grade 12. These lesson plans are in turn derived from structured plans for each year, term, half-term, week and day - all mapped in detail to the Zambian school curriculum. So by working your way through the iSchool programme you will have covered everything prescribed within the curriculum.

As part of every other lesson the students are expected to be in front of the computer, and the eLearning presented to them integrates completely with the lesson plans. They are presented in a fun and interactive way designed to fully engage the pupils.

Lessons for the first 3 schools grades are available in English and 8 vernacular languages (Formal Nyanja; Bemba; Tonga; Luvale; Lozi; Kaonde; Lunda; and Lusaka Nyanja). All other grades are offered in English, as per Ministry of Education standards. Literacy is taught in all languages (except Lusaka Nyanja) through to Grade 7.

Below are some samples of Grade 1 and 2 eLearning lessons and their corresponding lesson plans. To see the full set of material requires a subscription through a school, which then also includes all other equipment and support  required for delivery. Much of the Grade 1 learning is based around a girl called 'Precious' (pictured right) and her family. There is a also a tutorial on how to use the iSchool computers (available in English or Nyanja).
